Fourteen freshmen at the University of Mississippi have been recognized as Stamps scholars, a prestigious designation that offers them a scholarship covering full cost of attendance and leadership development opportunities. The Stamps Scholars Program awards scholarships based on academic excellence, leadership experience and exceptional character.

Audrey Elmore, of Madison, received the Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarship, which will provide $6,250 annually toward her education at the University of Mississippi. Elmore is one of 18 freshmen accepted into UM's Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College who are the recipients of some of the most bountiful scholarships at the university.

Ayanna Norman, a Corinth native majoring in allied health studies and psychology at the University of Mississippi, has been awarded a Voyager Scholarship, also known as the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service. Norman is the university's first recipient of the award.

Lydia Snopek, of Madison, an accountancy student at the University of Mississippi, received a $15,000 scholarship from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

From across the world, University of Mississippi biology major Christian Boudreaux received a life-changing Zoom call from Chancellor Glenn Boyce last week. Despite Zanzibar's spotty internet service, the message was clear: Boudreaux had won a coveted Truman Scholarship. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, the nation's official living memorial to the 33rd U.S. president, announced the junior from Oxford as the university's 19th Truman Scholar on April 12. The foundation awards scholarships based on outstanding leadership potential and commitment to a career in public service.

George Taylor, a junior biomedical engineering major at the University of Mississippi, is the university's 25th student to receive a Goldwater Scholarship.

Ole Miss First scholars have been named at the University of Mississippi this fall. The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society has selected a University of Mississippi student as the sole recipient of its annual scholarship. Elsie Buskes, a junior geology major from Oxford and member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, will receive $1,000 to help her pursue a career in near-surface geophysics, which involves analyzing the ground just below the surface.

The British government has named University of Mississippi alumna Jilkiah Bryant as a winner of a prestigious Marshall Scholarship, making her the third Marshall Scholar in the university's history. Bryant, a 2023 graduate with a degree in public health and health sciences, plans to spend the next two years studying community health at Sheffield University in England.

Keerthin Karthikeyan, a University of Mississippi freshman with a strong passion for leadership, plans to excel in the political arena as an international lawyer or a government diplomat - a career to be launched thanks to support from one of the most prestigious awards available to college students. Karthikeyan, of Oxford, is a member of the Stamps Scholar freshman cohort at UM this fall.
