University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on Nov. 2 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Phi Kappa Phi membership is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

The British government has awarded Sophia Turner, a University of Mississippi international studies major from Pass Christian, a prestigious Marshall Scholarship. Established in 1953 to show appreciation for the United States' assistance following World War II, the Marshall Scholarship funds two years of graduate study at a British university of the scholar's choosing.

Sydney Guntharp, of Hernando, a senior English and political science major at the University of Mississippi, was named a Rhodes Scholarship finalist.

More than 900 students graduated from the University of Mississippi in August 2025. Undergraduate and graduate candidates received degrees from the College of Liberal Arts, General Studies and schools of Law, Pharmacy, Journalism and New Media, Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Applied Sciences and Patterson School of Accountancy.

The honorees were recognized for their achievements during a ceremony on April 4 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Who's Who Among Students is a respected honor program recognizing seniors who excel academically and demonstrate leadership and community service on and off campus.

Aminata Ba, a sophomore public policy leadership major at the University of Mississippi, is one of 12 high-achieving students selected for an eight-week international internship program in Dublin, Ireland.

The University of Mississippi selected more than 90 students to receive a 2025 Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal, the university's highest academic award.

Eighteen University of Mississippi students were inducted into the Columns Society for 2024-25.

Dominic Cheves, a sophomore political science major from Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, was named Top Sophomore of the Year at the University of Mississippi's Army ROTC Awards Banquet. To receive this award, a cadet is evaluated upon academic performance, performance in ROTC, attendance, physical fitness, volunteer work and cadre assessment.

Lake Dodson, a political science major at the University of Mississippi, had the opportunity of a lifetime to study abroad last fall at Kyung Hee University, the only university in South Korea with a nuclear reactor on campus. Dodson, of Madison, studied Korean foreign policy, North-South Korean relations and carried out nuclear research entirely in the Korean language.

Nineteen University of Mississippi students have been accepted to medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center through the Early Decision Program.

University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy students Shelby Wise and Alexcia Carr received the Ainsworth Award for Exemplary Leadership, which is presented to two students who provided exemplary leadership while enrolled in the School of Pharmacy's professional program.
