Jilkiah Bryant, of Macon, who graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2023 with a degree in public health and health sciences, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes and Marshall scholarships.

Madeleine Dotson, a senior majoring in economics, Arabic and political science at the University of Mississippi, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. Ethan Lambert, of Corinth, who graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in May, has been selected as one of four 2023 Portz Scholars in the National Collegiate Honors Council's annual competition for outstanding undergraduate honors papers. Lambert won $375 and a free trip to present his honors thesis at the 58th annual NCHC conference in Chicago this November.

Patrick Poe, graduate of the Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi, has been named a winner of the Elijah Watt Sells Award for earning exceptional scores on the CPA exam. The Sells Award is the world's most prestigious award given for CPA exam performance.

University of Mississippi alumna Margaret Walker of Suwanee, Georgia, received a fellowship worth $8,500 from the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Walker is one of 62 recipients nationwide to receive the fellowship. Walker received a dual bachelor's degree in public policy leadership and integrated marketing communications from UM in May. As a Phi Kappa Phi fellow, Walker will pursue a Juris Doctor at the University of Virginia School of Law.
