University of Mississippi Students Inducted Into Phi Kappa Phi

More than 180 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on April 9 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

University of Mississippi Honors 2025-26 Who's Who Students

More than 200 students were honored as the 2025-26 class of Who's Who Among Students at the University of Mississippi. The honorees were recognized for their achievements during a ceremony on April 10 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Who's Who Among Students is a respected honor program recognizing seniors who excel academically and demonstrate leadership and community service on and off campus.

University of Mississippi Junior Nathaniel Carlson Named Goldwater Scholar

Nathaniel Carlson, a University of Mississippi junior chemistry major from Apex, North Carolina, recently joined a select group of students named as a Goldwater Scholar. The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors planning to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering. This year, the foundation selected 454 students from a pool of more than 5,000 applicants nominated by universities across the country.

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation has named University of Mississippi junior Aminata Ba as a finalist for the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship. If selected, the public policy leadership and economics major from Southaven will become the university's 21st Truman scholar and the sixth in five years. The first-generation college student was selected from a pool of more than 780 applicants from 305 institutions nationwide.

The British government has awarded Sophia Turner, a University of Mississippi international studies major from Pass Christian, a prestigious Marshall Scholarship. Established in 1953 to show appreciation for the United States' assistance following World War II, the Marshall Scholarship funds two years of graduate study at a British university of the scholar's choosing.
