The University of Mississippi selected more than 90 students to receive a 2025 Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal, the university's highest academic award.

The Ole Miss Golf Course awarded its inaugural scholarship to Anne Caramanica, of Leesburg, Virginia. Caramanica is a law studies major at the University of Mississippi and a staff member in the pro shop at the golf course. "OMGC student employees are an invaluable part of our daily operations," said Tate Anderson, manager of the Ole Miss Golf Course. "This scholarship program is a unique opportunity for us to recognize their contributions to the course, as well as their personal and academic accomplishments. Demetrick Stringer, of Robinsonville, a sophomore legal studies and political science major at the University of Mississippi, is one of 12 students nationwide selected for the 2026 class of The Institute for Responsible Citizenship. A two-summer program based in Washington, D.C., the institute offers opportunities for African American male college students. Those opportunities include internships, seminars on economic and constitutional principles and ethics, meetings with prominent leaders, and personal and professional development workshops.

More than 100 University of Mississippi students were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the liberal arts. The university held an induction ceremony on April 4 in the Johnson Commons Ballroom on campus. Phi Beta Kappa membership is an honor conferred upon fewer than 10% of each graduating class. Students do not apply for membership but are elected by the chapter after a review of the academic records of each eligible candidate.

More than 150 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on April 3 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

Yasmine Ware walked into Chancellor Glenn Boyce's office thinking she would speak with a prospective donor. Instead, she walked out as the University of Mississippi's 20th Harry S. Truman Scholar. Boyce surprised the junior interdisciplinary studies major with the news on April 10. Unbeknownst to Ware, her mother, father and younger brother, who traveled from their hometown of Madison, were waiting in Boyce's office.

Aashish Dhakal, a computer science major from Ilam, Nepal, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Jesse Gordon, a multi-disciplinary studies major from Lucedale, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Madeline Mueller, a psychology major from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

David Phillips Jr., a biological science major from Hattiesburg, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Justice Rose, a journalism major from Madison, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Hannah Watts, a public policy leadership major from Columbia, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Ethan Robertson, a political science major from Pontotoc, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Jana Abdrabbo, an international studies major from Madison, has been inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.

Over 120 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Tri-Alpha Honor Society, which honors the academic excellence of first-generation college students. The university held an induction ceremony on March 27 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center Student Union Ballroom. Ceremonies on the Booneville, Tupelo, Grenada and DeSoto regional campuses took place in early April.

Brianna Dang, from Oxford, a senior B.F.A. in graphic design student at the University of Mississippi, won a Silver American Advertising Award in the Poster - Single category for her entry "WWF Marine Wildlife Campaign."

Two hundred students were honored as the 2024-25 class of Who's Who Among Students at the University of Mississippi. The honorees were recognized for their achievements during a ceremony on April 4 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Who's Who Among Students is a respected honor program recognizing seniors who excel academically and demonstrate leadership and community service on and off campus.
