More than 80 University of Mississippi students were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the liberal arts. The university held an induction ceremony on April 14, 2023, at Johnson Commons on campus. Phi Beta Kappa membership is an honor conferred upon fewer than 10% of each graduating class. Students do not apply for membership but are elected by the chapter after a review of the academic records of each eligible candidate.

More than 140 University of Mississippi students were welcomed into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor societies for all academic disciplines. The university held an induction ceremony on April 13 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student's character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10% of their class.

Twelve University of Mississippi seniors are headed abroad to hone their language skills after being accepted for the Chinese capstone year program. The capstone is a final year of direct enrollment and study at a university in Taiwan, followed by an internship.

Fifty-six rising seniors were selected to join the Tassels Chapter of the Mortar Board honor society at the University of Mississippi.

Two hundred and one Ole Miss students were recognized as Who's Who Among Students at the University of Mississippi during a ceremony on April 14 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Who's Who Among Students is a respected honor program recognizing seniors who excel academically and demonstrate leadership and community service on and off campus.

An ordinary day turned extraordinary for Madeleine Dotson, as she was congratulated by University of Mississippi Chancellor Glenn Boyce for becoming the institution's 18th Truman Scholar. Winners were formally announced April 12 by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Boyce surprised Dotson, a junior Arabic, economics and political science major, with the news in his office on April 10, surrounded by several university leaders. The Truman Foundation, the nation's official living memorial to the 33rd U.S. president, awards merit-based scholarships to college students who plan to pursue careers in government or elsewhere in public service.

Two students in the Croft Institute for International Studies at the University of Mississippi received the Rose Bui Memorial Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Top rising sophomores receive the Rose Bui scholarship, which is worth $8,000 per year for four years. Recipients must maintain a 3.4 GPA and remain in the international studies major during their time at the university.
