Brandon Kriplean, of Franklin, Tennessee, a senior international studies major at the University of Mississippi, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. The Rhodes Scholarship allows students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom to complete their master's or doctoral degree.

Jilkiah Bryant, of Macon, who graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2023 with a degree in public health and health sciences, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes and Marshall scholarships.

Madeleine Dotson, a senior majoring in economics, Arabic and political science at the University of Mississippi, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. The Rhodes Scholarship allows students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom to complete their master's or doctoral degree.

The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society has selected a University of Mississippi student as the sole recipient of its annual scholarship. Elsie Buskes, a junior geology major from Oxford and member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, will receive $1,000 to help her pursue a career in near-surface geophysics, which involves analyzing the ground just below the surface.

Kaleb Henry, of Waynesboro, is on a mission. The Ole Miss First scholar and University of Mississippi junior is studying biochemistry and biology with a goal to one day provide health care for his hometown community. With plans to become a physician specializing in pediatrics or orthopedics, Henry's Ole Miss First scholarship is supporting his journey.

Seventeen freshmen at the University of Mississippi have been recognized as Stamps Scholars, a prestigious designation that offers them a scholarship covering full cost of attendance and leadership development opportunities.

Eight University of Mississippi students are the inaugural recipients of the university's Ole Miss 8 Scholarship, an award commemorating the eight students expelled from campus after a peaceful protest in 1970.

Keerthin Karthikeyan, a University of Mississippi freshman with a strong passion for leadership, plans to excel in the political arena as an international lawyer or a government diplomat - a career to be launched thanks to support from one of the most prestigious awards available to college students. Karthikeyan, of Oxford, is a member of the Stamps Scholar freshman cohort at UM this fall. The highly competitive Stamps Scholarship provides students' full cost of attendance, as well as a $12,000 enrichment fund for unique educational pursuits, including travel, research, internships and academic conferences.

Lawson Cheek, of Richardson, Texas, a general business major at the University of Mississippi, received the Trudy Thompson Scholarship, a $2,500 award within the Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA, Memorial Scholarship Fund that provides tuition assistance to college students pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket.

More than 900 students graduated from the University of Mississippi in August 2023. Undergraduate and graduate candidates received degrees from the College of Liberal Arts, General Studies and schools of Law, Pharmacy, Journalism and New Media, Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Applied Sciences and Patterson School of Accountancy.

Ethan Lambert, of Corinth, who graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in May, has been selected as one of four 2023 Portz Scholars in the National Collegiate Honors Council's annual competition for outstanding undergraduate honors papers. Lambert won $375 and a free trip to present his honors thesis at the 58th annual NCHC conference in Chicago this November.
